A third-person shooter computer game called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is based on the 2009 live-action movie of the same name. It is the follow-up to 2007’s Transformers: The Game and the second live-action Transformers movie to be adapted into a video game. The game was created by Luxoflux for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it was converted to Microsoft Windows by Beenox. Krome Studios created the versions for the PlayStation 2 and Wii, while Savage Entertainment created the version for the PlayStation Portable. On June 23, 2009, Activision launched all of the game’s versions in the United States. Europe got the game on June 25, Australia one day later. Based on the same-named movie, a sequel, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, was released in June 2011.
Every game’s adaptation of the film it is based on follows the storyline in broad strokes. The Decepticons have fled to Earth after the death of their leader, Megatron, while the Autobots have allied with humans to hunt them down. The Fallen, a brand-new foe who wants to turn on an antiquated machine to give the Decepticons enough energon to vanquish the Autobots while destroying the Sun and all life on Earth, is covertly helping the Decepticons. The game’s split-campaign style is available on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions. Players may choose to join the Autobots or the Decepticons and carry out numerous objectives for the group they joined. In one campaign that rotates between the two sides, the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions merge the Autobot and Decepticon tales.
